When Emma first got in touch, her life was ruled by health anxiety.
Every small physical symptom triggered intense fear. Her days were filled with online symptom searches, constant body checking, and repeated GP appointments—even though her tests always came back clear.
Despite reassurance from doctors, she couldn’t let go of the fear. Her mind would instantly go to worst-case scenarios, and she lived in a constant state of dread. The anxiety had started to affect her work, her relationships, and her ability to enjoy life at all.
Emma wasn’t sure if hypnotherapy could help. Her anxiety felt so physical and real. But after the first session, she said she felt something shift—a deep sense of calm she hadn’t experienced in a long time.
Over five sessions, we gently worked on calming the overactive fear response, restoring trust in her body, and helping her shift her internal focus away from hypervigilance and back toward clarity and calm.
Emma gradually stopped checking and spiralling. The fear that once dominated her thoughts began to fade, and for the first time in years, she started to feel safe in her own body.
She was able to let go of the constant scanning and begin living more fully. She described it this way:
“Now, when I feel something, I notice it—but I don’t panic. I’ve got space between the thought and the fear. It’s not running my life anymore.”
Emma’s journey shows how health anxiety isn’t just in the mind—it’s in the body’s memory. By working gently and consistently, we helped her rebuild a sense of safety and confidence from within.
If you relate to Emma’s story, you’re not alone. You can regain peace and trust in yourself again.
